We’re Upgrading The Sanctuary
We are excited to announce that Christ Church is adding new audio/video equipment to our worship spaces!
In April of last year, the Board of Trustees received a request from our Senior Leadership Team to consider an upgrade to our worship spaces. After three months of deliberation within our Executive Committee and Church Council meetings, the decision to move forward was made at the end of June 2021 with a 7-1 vote from the 2021 Board of Trustees. As if to bless the efforts, intentionality, and faithfulness of our committees, we received a donation that would support the cost of this upgrade shortly thereafter!
Part of this project includes a new state-of-the-art video screen, which will be mounted to the floor in the Sanctuary. In researching several other Methodist churches, as well as other denominations that have made similar upgrades in their sanctuaries, we paid due diligence to how the layout and optics of the screen would blend with our beautiful altar and overall space.
The screen will extend between the two stained glass windows and will, amazingly, blend with the marble wall’s pattern of crosses when not in use. The screen will allow us to maintain continuity between our worship spaces, the opportunity for remote video guests from around the world, serving spotlights, testimonials, announcements, and video presentations of baptisms and funerals. The Board saw the clear benefits this could provide to the future growth of our church. The following are renders of what the new screen will look like in our Sanctuary. Note that while we have full confidence in our media team to implement this new tech, these photos are simulated mock-ups and are not representative of the final product.
While the project was delayed due to supply and distribution chain issues in 2021, we did not have an installation date to share with you until now. We’re excited to announce that the installation will begin at the end of May 2022!
God gifted us with this technology for a reason; we promise to use it wisely to grow His Kingdom.
