Wednesday Night Discipleship

Intentional Discipleship for the Whole Family

On Wednesday nights at Christ Methodist, our church family grows together to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. Each week, we eat a meal together from 5:00-6:00 PM in Seabrook Hall and then breakout into specific areas for discipleship: our children into the Nursery & Wednesday Night Kids (WNK), our teenagers into the Refuge, and our adults into our discipleship groups.

Spring Semester 2025

This Spring, our goal is for everyone to encounter the person of Jesus Christ and share him with one person.

To accomplish this, our Wednesday Night groups will be reading and studying the book Confronting Jesus: 9 Encounters with the Hero of the Gospels by Rebecca Mclaughlin. This book gives an overview of who Jesus is and will continue to equip us in the best ways to share Him with others.

This resource will compliment and give greater depth to our churchwide commitment to read the Gospel of Luke this Spring. To learn more about this commitment, including our shared reading plan and recommended resources, visit the button below!

Read the Overview

Last Fall, we developed a new curriculum that aims to be your starting point as a disciple and disciple-maker. Centered on the gospel and utilizing methodology from disciple-making ministries and movements from around the world, we designed Disciple to provide you with four things:

  1. A method to know the gospel and share it confidently.

  2. A plan for studying the Bible and responding to it in faithful obedience, personally and in community.

  3. A pattern for praying to God in a way that dialogues with the Bible and worships His character, personally and in community.

  4. A resource to help you overcome objections to the gospel in a Western, post-Christian culture while equipping believers to confront them with conviction.

Each week we grew in our confidence in understanding the gospel by studying a passage of Scripture personally, then in community, and finally through teaching from our pastoral staff.

To learn more about each of these movements, see below:

  • Each week, you will personally study, pray, and respond to the passage.

These guides are $10 and will be available for purchase on Vision Sunday and at Wednesday Night Dinners.

  • After your study and prayer on the passage, you will arrive at your discipleship group ready to discuss it! Many of the questions will be the same, showing that growth in the Christian life is meant to happen in community.

Our groups on Wednesday Nights average 12-15 people, and aim to be intentionally multigenerational and co-ed. Click the button above to sign up!

  • After studying the passage individually and discussing it in a discipleship group, you will conclude by hearing a disciple-making lesson on the week’s concept. This message will confirm the truths discussed, and also seek to equip you to share them in the context of evangelism and disciple-making.

Upcoming Dinner Menus

On Wednesday nights, we gather together from 5-5:45 to share a meal prior to all of our ministries launching. We offer both a hot meal option and a salad bar for adults for $8. Children may receive free pizza at dinner with their parents, or in their age-based ministries around the church. To steward our resources in the best possible way, we ask that you would RSVP for dinner by 10:00 on Monday morning.
