Pastor Shane Stanford Steps Down From Christ Church

After much prayer and consideration, Pastor Shane Stanford will be stepping down as senior pastor of Christ Church after 11 years of faithful service. Watch Shane’s video below to hear about God’s calling for his next step in ministry.

What does this mean for Christ Church? Shane will continue in his role as senior pastor through the rest of the conference year (June 2022). This means that, for now, nothing will change.

After a new senior pastor is in place, Shane will remain involved at Christ Church in a very limited capacity though leadership support, teaching opportunities, and the formation and launch of the upcoming Servant School, which we are excited to share more about in the coming days.

In regards to the Methodist model of pastoral appointments, know that we have an excellent relationship with our bishop and that he is dedicated to partnering with the Holy Spirit and working with us in helping find and put into place the right senior pastor for the next stage in Christ Church’s journey.

God does not call us into anything that does not require dependance on Him. While we couldn’t be more excited about this next step, we want to intentionally invite everyone  to join us in prayer for Shane and his family, our church, and for the Spirit’s guidance towards our next senior pastor.
