Update on the Feedback Regarding Our Weekly 11 AM Traditional Worship Service
This update was originally shared by Rev. Paul Lawler on Monday, March 17, in his weekly church newsletter, Word From Pastor Paul.
First, I want to thank all those who provided feedback via email regarding the possibility of the Senior Pastor preaching by video in the 11:00 AM traditional worship service. I remain committed to teaching in the 11:00 AM traditional service in the Sanctuary on the first Sunday of each month.
As far as utilizing video of the teaching from the Senior Pastor’s preaching from the 8:30 AM in the traditional service at 11:00 AM on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the month, no decision has been made. We will continue to utilize our teaching team at this time.
Upon being called to serve as your Senior Pastor, I listened to much feedback and grew to understand that the congregation did not desire worship services to take place during the Sunday school hour. Choosing not to host worship services during the Sunday School hour would maximize the opportunities for participation in discipleship and building community life through Sunday School participation. However, it would also involve hosting two 11:00 AM worship gatherings each week, one in the Sanctuary and one in Seabrook Hall, respectively. Thus, it would be impossible for the Senior Pastor to preach in all three services (i.e., 8:30 AM in the Sanctuary and 11:00 AM in Seabrook Hall and 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary).
I have chosen to receive feedback because I care about our entire church family, including those who worship at the 11:00 AM traditional worship service in our Sanctuary. We are prayerfully examining multiple possibilities for the future, and I will seek to keep you updated through my occasional Sunday morning “fireside chats” and Word from Pastor Paul.
Never Miss a Word From Pastor Paul
