In Preparation for A New Semester of Discipleship
Preparing for Your Participation in Wednesday Night Discipleship This Fall
Discipleship groups at Christ Church are comprised of 10-12 people who meet to grow together through prayer, study, and missional engagement. This was modeled by Jesus in the New Testament. We aim for groups to grow deeply and multiply outward into new disciple-making groups. Our Discipleship groups will study the same curriculum, meet for a 10-week semester, and are intentionally co-ed and multigenerational.
We will also share in a church-wide weekly meal, beginning with Vision Night at 5:00 PM on September 6. This also provides an opportunity for members of the church body to connect in fellowship over a meal (also modeled by Jesus and His disciples). So that we may plan well and serve as a good steward of resources, you will be asked to register your family for meals regularly. If you know you and your family will be attending all ten weeks, you will have the option to pay for all ten weeks upfront.
What are we studying this semester?
This semester, all of our discipleship groups will study the topic of prayer using Jim Cymbala’s study guide, When God’s People Pray. This guide features video-based discussions and a weekly personal study. Books are $10 and available online during registration or in person at the church.
When and where will our groups meet?
Groups meet each Wednesday night at the church from 6:00-7:30 for ten weeks. The first group meeting of the semester will be on September 13, and the semester will conclude on November 15. Our groups will also have special Prayer Summit nights throughout the semester. More information to come about these special nights!
Who will I be in a group with?
Our Discipleship Groups are intentionally co-ed and multigenerational.
If you participated in a previous semester and want to continue with your group, you can select that option during registration.
If you are new or would like to join a new group this semester, you will also have the option during registration and you can share the name(s) of someone you would like to be placed with or a leader who invited you.
