We’re Upgrading The Sanctuary
After three months of deliberation within our Executive Committee and Church Council meetings, the decision to move forward was made at the end of June 2021 with a 7-1 vote from the 2021 Board of Trustees. As if to bless the efforts, intentionality, and faithfulness of our committees, we received a donation that would support the cost of this upgrade shortly thereafter!
New Senior Pastor Appointed
Today, we couldn’t be more excited to announce the culmination of these last 23 weeks and the incredible time and effort our search committee has spent—to celebrate God’s grace and faithfulness through the official appointment of a new Senior Pastor: Reverend Paul Lawler of Christ Church Birmingham.

UMC Postpones General Conference
The United Methodist Church announced last week to postpone General Conference from 2022 to 2024. This decision prevents a vote this year on what is known as the Protocol, a proposal that, had it passed at General Conference, would allow each local United Methodist congregation to decide whether to separate from the United Methodist Denomination.
Introducing the Joshua Committee
The Joshua Committee will be a conduit for open, objective, and clear communication within our congregation on denominational issues during this critical period. We encourage questions and input from all members of Christ Church as we labor through this process and we want to make ourselves available to anyone and everyone who wishes to engage in dialogue on this issue.
